North Caroline Theater Presents Grease, The Musical!
Broadway lovers in the Triangle rejoice! Starting tonight, North Caroline Theatre is presenting the Triangle’s own production of Grease!
This popular music is set in Chicago in 1959, and revolves around the romance of Rydell High School students Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski. During the course of the play, it also tackles a variety of issues like teenage pregnancy and gang violence, and harps on themes like love, rebellion, class, and friendship. The show is based on a teen subculture from the 50’s called the greasers.
Grease features such musical numbers as Alma Mater, We Go Together, Summer Nights, and Greased Lightenin’Â Grease has been nominated for 10 Tony awards, plus several other awards.
Of course, the best part is that you don’t have to drive to NYC to see a great production of Grease. You can see Grease at the NC Theatre from May 11th through May 20th. North Caroline Theatre will also be producing other shows this year, including, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Man Of La Mancha, High School Musical, and more!
