The Triangle refers not only to the Research Triangle Park, but to the cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill where three of the United States premier universities are located. Duke University can be found in Durham, North Carolina State University calls Raleigh home and Chapel Hill is where you will find the University of North Carolina. Visit this gorgeous region and discover why tourists are flocking to this area.

Raleigh

Carolina charm meets city sophistication in the city of Raleigh. Chic restaurants serving savory fare can be found along streets lined with trees as well as a nightlife that is vibrant and hip. Raleigh has something for everyone. History buffs will enjoy top rated museums in the Capital area, sports enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of amateur and professional sporting events, and culture seekers can hear live music and see a Broadway show. Bargain hunters won’t be disappointed either with the selection of retail areas to shop until they drop.

Durham

Another thriving city chock full of historic sites, entertainment venues, fine dining and excellent museums is Durham. Visit the historic downtown district and visit the Duke Homestead and pay a visit to the Tobacco Museum. Duke University is home to the Nasher Museum of Art and be sure to pay a visit to the quaint Patterson’s Mill Country Store as well.

Chapel Hill

The heart of Chapel Hill is Franklin Street. There you can browse diverse shops, memorabilia stores featuring Tar Heel merchandise, mouthwatering restaurants and stroll the UNC campus. See the stars at a show featured at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center or spend the afternoon amongst the flora and fauna at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Denizens of Chapel Hill refer to their city as “The southern part of heaven” and you might too once you have visited this bustling, down-home city.
