Oxford

A century ago, Oxford was described as "one of the prettiest towns in all the country, with wide and well shaded streets, large lawns and elegant residences." That description still holds true today. Surrounded by vital, growing industries housed in state-of-the-art facilities, Oxford nevertheless retains the charm and friendliness of its historic past. Central business and residential districts are on the National Register of Historic Places. Located atop the bustling Research Triangle in the rolling piedmont of northern Granville County, Oxford affords both easy access to metropolitan amenities and a village atmosphere where neighborly greetings and hometown service are the order of the day.

Creedmoor

The climate allows year-round outdoor activity: a picnic at Lake Rogers, a softball game or a round of tennis are only a few options. The well established volunteer organizations and community guarantee a year of special events. The Creedmoor Music Festival is held in September with old fashioned gospel music among other activities. On the second Saturday in October the Volunteer Fire Department has a fund raiser, a parade with surrounding communities participating along with bands from area high schools marching. The Christmas parade and the lighting of the city Christmas tree usually takes place on the first Saturday in December. The people of this city work hard to make a balanced life and blend the old with the new. This blending is exemplified by the updating of services and buildings needed to serve the present population.
